The Stitch Club Class is designed to help more people learn new stitches to expand their beading experience and creating a good foundation to build on.
Each month there will be a new stitch highlighted, this month will be Diagonal Peyote more commonly known as the Russian Leaf stitch.
Diagonal Peyote is stitched with a decrease and an increase on each row, usually adding one bead at a time, to create an angled piece of Peyote.
One earring is a traditional Russian Leaf, the other is similar but finished differently for a completely different look using a top drill drop.
The stitch is very different on each end due to the increase and decrease, with regular Peyote through the middle, an absolute invaluable skill when using any kind of Peyote.
It is necessary to use colors you can easily tell apart to aid in your learning but after you get it, feel free to do any colors you want.
Like most stitches, once you get the hang of it, you will really enjoy it.
You will go home with written instructions to refer to after you have left the class.
This is a basic stitch and a must for all beading levels.
